No frills place, reminds me of an In N Out. I ordered the Double Double, er, I mean the Two-N-Two. In my hurry I neglected to order their fresh cut fries. Doh! I wouldn't be surprised if they have a secret menu with Animal Style. Prices are good, staff is friendly. Everything is made to order. The burger was delicious. Perfectly seasoned, fresh ground beef. Fiance's chocolate shake was freshly made and tasty too. I'll definitely be back for another burger, and I'll be sure to ask for fries. SECOND VISIT: Fantastic burger, fries were okay but slightly undercooked. I don't like floppy fries. Three stars for the fries, five for everything else.

Flat grill burger and fries was very good! Place has a fun theme and images of that great movie. Seems a little out dated, but food was good.

My son and I stopped in to the Sandlot today to experience the two-in-two burger. All of the staff worked hard to freshly prepare our order of one cheeseburger, one two-in-two burger, a classic chicago hotdog, one order of fresh cut fries, a large chocolate shake, and a large soda. The chocolate shake was prepared right in front of me with freshly scooped vanilla ice cream and topped off with whipped cream and a cherry. Both burgers were juicy and full of flavor. The Sandlot spread on the two-in-two burger was the perfect condiment. The fresh cut French fries were cooked to perfection, and the portion size was large enough for three to share. There were four tables inside and two tables outside to enjoy your meal. For fans of the Sandlot movie and those who love great food, the Sandlot is the place to be.

The burgers were great! However, the atmosphere was filthy and sticky. Windows seemed like they had never been clean. The countertop was sticky and dirty, and the Chicago Tribune newspaper they put on display (which you'd expect to be clean) to show how amazing the place is is also filthy. I would ONLY recommend take out.

I was pretty excited to try this place as it was recommended to me by a few people that had nothing but great things to say about this place but I pretty disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Food was alright nothing spectacular just a average thin sliced burger. Fries were very plain. Overall service was horrible the man who was working at the front was very slow moving and was rude. I asked what shake he recommended and he said none of the them…. Just wasn’t my best experience at this restaurant.

This place was recommended to us a couple years ago. Today, we finally had the opportunity to visit. It's a quaint hole-in-the-wall joint! The young lady that helped us was super nice! All of the staff were amazing. The food was DELICIOUS! We went with the store's recommendation of the Two-by-Two. It was phenomenal. The fresh cut fries were awesome. I also got a milkshake. Definitely recommend the Sandlot if you're in the area!

Where else can you get four patties on one burger? I honestly can't think of another place off the top of my head. Great fries and burgers, fresh, local, reasonable prices. If only all chains disappeared and every place like this was local, the landscape of American food would be so awesome. I guess that's what it was like before the big quick service chains expanded. Every town probably had some unique place like this for a great burger.
